Big Switch Off Event – Sunday 23rd February 2025 From 7pm Onwards
/in News /by ClerkUnnecessary and obtrusive lighting wastes energy, adds to electricity bills and releases more carbon emissions into the atmosphere. Artificial light at night is also harmful to wildlife and interferes with our sleep patterns which can affect our long-term health.
This event is a highly visible act to do something positive to save carbon, energy and money. It also helps to reverse the severe decline of insects and other night-time pollinators. These species are important for maintaining our food security.
Sadly, CPRE isn’t holding its annual Star Count this year but your colleagues could adapt the Star Count 2023 family activity pack – CPRE.
If you need any additional information, please get in touch. It is the first year, CPRE Herefordshire and its partners are holding the event and we are encouraging parish and town councils to get involved too.
Thank you for your support
